I'll be ordering an SBR 50trim mid-Jan. A rewired 190 should be enough, right?

MAFT.. I'll check that out.

190 is good for around 400whp.

I'd get a 1G throttle body for a cheap mod. Look into cams to take full advantage of that 50trim.

Don't forget a few other 1G parts to make your 2G..........BETTER!!

if you want to go this route:

EPROM if you wanna go DSMLink...
1g Head
1g TB
1g Intake Mani
springs/retainers
cams

or this route:
1g TB
port your head
cams
SMIM
ported exhaust manifold or a tubular manifold

The entire engine, save for the dinky exhaust manifolds
the rear end,
turbos,
transmissions,
bov's
suspension,
and a bunch of other stuff,
pretty much the only thing better on the 2g's is the looks and that is an on going debate

no idea how much to get it ported. i can port, but not cylinder heads. i'd rather leave that to someone who knows what they're doing.

a SMIM is a sheet metal intake manifold, like the magnus or the venom.

if you really want to go any bigger, youre going to want more precise control over the car.

my next steps would be

255lph pump and aeromotive fpr
DSMLINK setup
50trim or better

From $750ish to sky's the limit.

i would spend that money elsewhere before i started looking at headwork. personally, i would do headwork(PnP), cams, and sheet metal intake manny all at once, thatll really liven up the airflow into the sucker.

I was under the impression that a 2g ported head actually flowed better than a 1g, because of the shape of the ports and increased velocity?

It is but that's a touchy subject. It has to be done right. A so so port job on a 1G head is usually better than the same on a 2G head.

I just ordered the 680s.. Now I'm looking for a 50trim. Finally get to upgrade from my sm16g.

Anyway, any Internal WG 50trims out there for around $700?

I'm not sure if OldDirty wanted to buy it still or not so I am going to keep it for now.

Do you guys recommend me getting a larger turbo or perhaps sticking with the 16g and getting intake/exhaust cams?

OldDirtyNoSeven
December 15th, 2005, 07:13 AM
Your car will still smog with a 16g once you go bigger say good by to the visual inspection,
I will let you know on that AFC,
I am think I am going to go DSMlink

I have a 14b with no wheel inside of it connected to a nasty 1g manifold. Come smog time, it takes 2 seconds to swap it out with the To4b :) Though I did pass with my garrett and a fmic at a test-only station, so who knows ;)

Thats a good idea, I have used a dummy turbo for break in also, try driving around a AWD 1g with 8:1 and NO boost, yea saturns feel like rocket ships compared to that! HAHA

Depends on what your goal is. EVOIII 16G seems to be the best choice for an all around turbo for daily driving :D Get it ported too.

What's the hp/tq number you're shooting for and are you willing to buy all of the supporting mods do go with it?
