DSM HATER ANNOUNCEMENT: Blue Mustang 'Bullitt'

Hey all, I want to let you guys know about a blue mustang GT in the Sacramento area. It is 99-04 body style with a BULLITT badge and Bullitt wheels. Its not a Bullitt because it has a spoiler, and is ummm not moss green... The guy is a total ass and needs to be embarrassed by one of us.

So he pulls up next to me and starts off with his middle finger. I was just cruising North on Watt with my girl in the car. She tells me that someone is trying to get my attention. This guy starts calling my car every name in the book. I mean worse things than could come up with. My car is a stock looking green 98 Talon AWD, nothing ricy or anything. I just smile and ask for a run. The idiot is to my right and he nearly swerves into me before making a quick right onto another street- giving me another bird as he goes. I never got to run him, but i would nearly give my left nut to!

I know this isnt a kill story, but I hope someone makes it into one. Im not trying to get anyone in trouble or encourage any reckless behavior, just a little heads up...

I'm not fond of any of the local Mustang crowd. Ego's are way to huge. And the fact that one of them spit a wad of tobacco doesn't help my hatred towards them.

My car attracts all kind of hate. People try to do shit for no reason. Every damn time I'm outnumbered 3 or 4 to 1. One occasion four dudes came up from behind when we were at a red light and started to try to get into my car for no reason. I had no choice but to book it once the light turned green. If only they had tried that shit when I was with a few of my buddies. I've had hella people talk shit to me because I drive an Eclipse, either V8 fanboys or lifted truck riding hicks.

usually I tend to ride a ass of a civic or even a 2g with three different colored body kits on it I would do the same to a Mustang that was two colors too.

If I see two punk kids trying to race through traffic, I pull up next to them line up the 5" exhaust on the diesel with their window, put the Edge box on 5, hit the exhaust brake, rev it up then dump the brake and it BLASTS black smoke into their car! I get a kick out of that

funny that my DSM will take all of them on the street up until about 90 mph. Most guys with Mustangs cant launch for crap.
and yeah v6 Tang is quite a bit slower than the v8

dont know, but they are a lot quicker than 99-04 215 or so hp compared to 190 and its much more torquey id say 15.1 - 15.4 in the quarter

Mustang owners are neat.. I had a guy in my apartment building ask about my car.. He knew it was all wheel drive.. (My guess is one of his buddies told him..) Then he went on to tell me that his mustang (he was standing next to and polishing) runs a 13 flat at 101... (Bone stock looking 99-ish GT) I ask what hes done to it.. He kinda fumbles for words for a second.. Then starts to list off.. "Yah uhh cobra fuel system. Cobra throttle body.. And an X pipe..

To which i replied.. "Soo uhh.. you bolted on some injectors and a throttle body from the 5.4 cobra motor onto your 4.6 and now you run faster than the cobra can in the 1/4??"

He sorta looked stupid for a second and then said "Yah well its all in the tuning.."

To which I replied.. "What did you tune with?"

And the final answer "My buddy did it all for me.. Im not sure what he used."

As I walked away I said " Uh huh"

lol...that reminds me of some day last week I was driving home on the freeway and saw a ricer out civic and mustang on a flat bed, both f'd up pretty bad. I was like....ahhhh, thats typical...and that must have been the slowest race ever while it lasted before the asses ran into each other..

it was a older gt vs a newer 6er. the older gt's(fox 5.0's, 94-95 5.0's and 96-98 anemic 4.6's) had around 215-225hp. a 05+ v6 has around 230hp i believe, plus just a way more linear power curve vs one that peaks at 4500 and falls flat on its face after that. itd be a whole nother story if it was a 99-04 GT(260hp crank) or 05+GT(300hp crank).

in response to benGSX's post, most dyno shops dont need a "tuner" like you think, but can actually flash the tune straight to the ecu, much in the same way a hypertech/SCT or Diablo handheld tuner does. ill tell you what though, nothing beats dsmlink for a streetable tuning system(AEM EMS but i hear its not very street friendly).

the EMS works just fine if the tuner takes the time to tune all the variables and settings. not just tuning the car for maximum power, but tunes for reliability also.

i'd rather have 500awhp and be able to drive it with no comprimise in driveability then have a 560awhp car that runs like dookie.

i dunno, id rather have a 560hp car that runs like dookie at nothing but WOT and another car for everything else. im done trying to have a super fast reliable car, especially in cali. my next "go fast" car will be solely built for that, nothing else.
