Okay.. so now my car doesn't seem to want to start after the timing/balance shaft belt install. I made SURE that all the timing marks were aligned properly, put everything back together, and it just cranks. No firing for me.. anyone have any ideas what it could be?
After this I am done.. if its a major problem the car will be parted out and sold for an extremely low price.. any help is appreciated.

check your engine fuse? check the fuel pressure? check uhh... stuff... i'm so tired i can't even think.
did you use a timing gun to check that the timing was right? also, what kind of cranking is it doing? slow? fast? irratic?

The cranking sounds normal in itself. It just doesn't want to turn over for some reason.

Not sure.. haven't tested for that. I can hear the whinebro "whining" when I am cranking tho.. I'll have to test for that and spark here in a little bit.

make sure you do a compression test. i don't even want to think that the valves might have took a dump on themselves when you cranked it.

Me neither.. and if thats the case.. ima push the car into the damn bay..
Anyone have a compression test set I can swing by and borrow for the day?

I do foolio. Anyone know where the MPI fuse is on a 2g? Does a 2g even have one?

My talon did that after a 6bolt swap and new timing belt, turns out you had to swap 2 of the wires, are you sure you put them back right?

It's called the "Engine Fuse" on the 2g, under the hood of the car. I think its at the upper right of the fusebox, but don't quote me :)

Swap which two wires?
I just went out and checked for Fuel and Spark.. I had both. When I pulled the first spark plug.. it smelled like it had a little bit of fuel on it. I pulled another, and it had some also.. though not as much.

He only had to swap the wires because he had a 6bolt swapped in.

The 97-up style cam angle sensor will bolt to the 1G head without any modification. The wire connector is different so you will need to make a connector for it or get one from a wrecking yard to plug in the wires. The main difference in the sensor is that it gives an opposite pulse from what the 95-96 sensor does. There are two ways to deal with it. (This also applies to swapping a 95-96 ECU with a 97-up ECU)
1) At the ignition coil, connect plug wires from cylinders 1 and 4 into the coil for 2 and 3. Connect
the plug wires from cylinders 2 and 3 into the coil for 1 and 4.

Same concept when using a 1G Cas on a 95-96, which is what I have.. swap spark plugs wires around.. and the pins at the ECU.

Someone mentioned the crank being 180 deg out of phase, I am gonna look into that also. Anyway to tell that it is?
