View Full Version : bah, lost to a crx

i know this is the kill stories thread..............i got killed.
now the GST is basically bone fucking stock. aside from the 3" catback and act2100 clutch, performance wise thats it. ive been driving it around(cause it gets great mileage when its stock, compared to the GT) and im on the freeway. times like this i wish i was either still modded or at least had my tbird(or better, the gt). come upon a primer black crx, the thing was loud as fuck.
i creep next to it, he starts goin through traffic crazy, which wasnt really necessary, traffic was thin but i guess he wanted to show off. so i just went into the fast lane and kept up with his incessant ricerness the easy way, as hes weaving through the slow and middle lanes like a idiot.
we finally get a break, i hit 3rd, hit a whoppin 12psi on the t25, and he downshifts too. dead fucking even. hit 4th, where at least i expect to gain a few feet by doing NLTS with a t25, but that doesnt happen. he starts to pull away. fuckshit.
i slow down. take my exit home, and park. go on the computer, and put the car on craigslist.

i hate losing to honduh's.

What do you mean good gas milage while stock!? lol I did the math for the ~800 mile drive here and my little Spyder got 32 miles to the gallon. Not bad at all. I didn't change the tune, the boost level, or even the wheels/tires lol. I was suprised.

Hondas done right are not slow. I almost want to buy a honda and do it right just so I can shock people that think nothing of them. But Im going back to Utah some day and naturally aspirated engines hate Utah.

freeway it got good mileage, but city, dude it sucked balls, and that was driving around and never seeing any positive boost. i got dsmlink in the hopes of regaining my mileage being able to tune things better and use the injectors the right way, but it didnt really make a difference. the only thing dsmlink did for me was show i wasnt even at 20psi, and that my 02 was dead. i never really rid myself of knock, never regained my mileage, and it wasnt much faster from going from 15 to 20psi.
oh and im sure the crx had something done, at least bolt ons, but its still a honduh. losing to one is something im not used to. hell losing at all is something im not used to.

Yep........99 Civic hatchback + stock K24= low 13 second car
But then again I can make anything fast for 15k

Most semi-intelligent people talk non stop shit about Hondas because even though they have potential to be fast little street cars, only 2% of them are. It's not a question of their potential.

I think Hondas are to the point that there are so many riced out ones. That if you had one that was done right you would be like a sleeper.
Pull up to someone and theyll just think "oh its just another farting riced out honduuuhhh" and then get smoked.

something like that. i think 5% of all "modded" hondas are actually modded, that 5% include youre everyday swap and bolt ons.
id say out of that 5%, only 10%(so .5% of all honduh's) of those are actually modded right(either high comp n/a+nitrous, or low comp built boosted).
and yes my mustang is slow, for now. someone came by to look at the gst and will give me 9 for it, has to wait till later this week for the money through his credit union. and i hear that if i pay the loan off like in full cash, i actually dont owe the 6k i think i do, so i might get even more money cause i wont be paying for another 2 years of interest. so ill have even more money to mod the car out. i think 4.1's, udp, intake, full 2.5" exhaust, shorty headers(though not needed), 75mm TB and plenum, sct x-cal2 tuner, and a nice 75 shot of nitrous ought to hit into the 12's. add some deep dish(10.5) bullits out back to help with traction, a lightweight driveshaft(universals are going out as it is now) and a king cobra clutch(or its equavilent) should add to the equation.

nah, its just called dreaming.
robert, dam right its a GT, i wouldnt get anything less. got it for 15k, 02 black with black leather. downside was it had 70k, commuter car, but that doesnt scare me. its so fucking clean. i just wanted something bigger, and after driving the stang around, the gst felt like a tin can, though i will say, after driving the stang with 1 feet of shift travel between 1st and 2nd gear, driving the gst with about 4" of travel felt really nice, though its notchier than hell cause of the crap obx shifter(stock one broken in half).
and you should look into a 94-95 5.0 cobra if thats what you want. trickflow heads, cam, intake, exhaust, gears, and that shit will haul ass something hard. back when i had the gst@15psi with the evo16g and all the support(though before dsmlink) i raced a 89 5.0 with the above mentioned, took me to 4th gear before i put some ground on him. though 20psi tuned with teh link wouldve decimated him badly.

hey whatz up, sad to hear that the gst is gone for good.
So you started to grow that MULLET yet?
better invest in some nice steel toe boots and short cut-off shorts with the ends falling apart.....
Oh, and how about some of those t-shirts with the sleeves cut off, not the tank tops.
just kidding Thomas....or am I?
I've been looking into a 93 stang 5.0 or a 95 Cobra......Imma call up my cousin in L.A. and see if he can find me one cheap at the wholesale auctions down there.....
Thats how I got my Red 1g AWD.

Nah he's got a newer GT, no need for the mullet. The profile for those pieces are... he needs to go to college while his parents pay for all of it, put his minimum wage earnings into chrome wheels and rumbling exhaust, wear a white polo shirt and white ball cap in a black car so he sticks out like a sour thumb, then pretend to rule the streets while avoiding each and every single stop light race... even though he revs hahahaha
Sorry, that's the norm for those GTs, no offense to you of course ;)

yea, I see those subjects almost on a daily basis now that i think about it......and they have never taken their car to the track.....even the guys with a v6 think they can whoop any cars asz.....go figure!
Thomas, skip the mullet, cut-off short shorts, steel toe boots, and sleeveless t-shirts....
Invest in a bunch of pairs of flip flops all sorts of colors to match your polo shirts and ball cap.....

actually im quite the opposite
1. Fuck college
2. first car FULLY in my name
3. minimum wage:yes, making double that with tips:yes
4. anthracite bullits>chrome
5. rumbling exhaust>annoying 4" single muffler. i never liked any exhaust on a 4banger. even my gst sounded crappy.
6. anchor blue nukka, and no hats. i hate hat-head, where your hair gets all flat and shit.
7. rule streets, not yet. but i did stay at a holiday inn.
8. and i love stoplights. used to hate them with pos fwd, i love launching now.
9. i COULD rev, but you wouldnt hear me.

I worked with a guy that had a 96 cobra with a 5.9L motor, that had his car running 11's with the timeslips to prove it. And I never saw him wearing any flip flops, polo shirts, or hats. Shouldn't throw everyone in the same catagory, because when people do it with our eclipses we also don't seem to like it right? right. 8)

since were on the subject,I saw these two girls in a riced out mustang,I wish i had my camara with me.The girls looked nice, but they managed to fuck this car up.the car was red, with a unfinshied bodykit in white.the hood was painted red in the middle and white on the sides. In the middle of the hood was a white APC sticker.on the back windshield a cjinese style banner with red background.when i saw it from a couple of cars behind me,i just thought, ahh some young kid riced out a v-6,no biggie.when it pulled past me i heard that unmisticable mustang V-8 sound i was like, aww hell naww,i can't believe somebody would do that to such a beautiful car.sorry bout the crx, don't sweat it,there's always someone faster then you.

robertgst.......that right there sounds like complete BS already....i can tell you're on a good streak there.
How the hell is a Ford technician not gunna know the difference between a cobras stock engine and a 5.9? Im pretty sure there might be some differences in the block or engine serial number.
It would be like Mitsubishi just "Replacing" my engine with a 4g64 if my 4g63 blew.
I was born at night, but not last night.
and also robertgst....dont get all butthurt because that is how young guys with those cars are stereotyped, thats just how it is.
I actually dont give a damn what people think about me or my car. My car is not riced out, I dont brag about my car, i drive my car on a daily basis for a minimum of 80 miles a day, so my car is daily driven. My car isn't some trailer queen.
If someone wants to put me in a category, what would it be?
i drive (2) 92' AWD's........whats the profile for 1gen owners?
have a nice day with your v6

Had a nice little run against a STI the other day (pre boost leak). No one really won but he must have been running stock boost because I walked away from him in 5th (where I should suck with a T25)
We got off the freeway and he started ridding my ass like he was mad so I pulled into a Taco Bell to avoid him doing something dumb to my car.
When I got out of the car he got out of there like a bat out of hell.
Moral: I love sterotypes, little asian men always get out of a DSM right?
I bet the dude nearly peed when a mongoloid white dude poped the door.

Used car dealership with no service center, dont know the name of it, its the one that looks like a small hallway on mchenry. I'm just going on what this guy was telling everyone, how big it really was dosent matter when he's still pulling those #'s. And have a nice day with your intake, exhaust, and mbc.

im guessing the one that has a very narrow lot, and it sits between i believe a meineke muffler shop and a storage place, and if youre going north on mchenry, it comes up right before signature theatres. a definate hole in the wall dealership. theyre the ones with the gold v6 automatic mustang thats never sold, and a slough of other crappy base model cars. but they did sell "Big Red", the largest street truck in modesto, its basically really big, and red. it has a huge lift, me and boostedawd could stand upright underneath it, and it has some nice sized tires. its turning radius is less than most big rigs. it had to do a 3pt turn to get into 2 parking spots.
